Project Narratives:
Chapter I: The Vision and the Vow
[The journey begins not with a hammer, but with a pen and a promise. This is the stage of Preliminaries, where dreams are tethered to reality through detailed workscope layouts and visual illustrations. The designer, Chan Guo Lun, crafts the master plan—a sequence of elevations and material selections that will soon breathe life into empty spaces.
The primary objective is to create a home that balances the rigorous demands of daily life with the need for a peaceful retreat. The design language focuses on clean lines, tactile warmth, and the seamless flow of light.
Chapter IV: The Flow and the Frame
Water must flow, and light must be let in. Plumbing Works ensure the invisible veins of the home are perfectly positioned—stainless steel and PPR piping connecting new sinks, faucets, and a showerhead that promises the ritual of rain.
The Window Works bring a sense of enclosure and safety, with black powder-coated aluminum frames standing guard at the service yard. Then, the Countertops are laid—marble-patterned quartz, cool to the touch and enduring, crowning the kitchen and bar area with a single-profile elegance. Finally, the Glass Works arrive, with frameless tempered glass for the shower and kitchen door, offering transparency and light where once there were barriers.
Chapter II: The Foundation of the Hearth
The first physical stirrings occur in the kitchen, the heart of the home. Here, the work is visceral and grounded—Masonry and Wet Works. The air is thick with the scent of mortar as workers construct the bases for the kitchen and bar counter. This is the "heavy" phase, the setting of the stage upon which all future culinary stories will be told. Simultaneously, the walls begin to change; an oil-based sealant is applied like a protective primer, followed by five chosen colors of Nippon Vinilex paint to sweep away the stale white of the past.
Chapter V: The Final Polish and the Handover
The project nears its crescendo with Partition Works, as a new divider wall rises in the living room to define the rhythm of the space. The debris of the "war of renovation" is hauled away, and the entire unit undergoes a "general washing"—the baptism before the birth.
The final tally of $36,270.00 is softened by a $1,270.00 Goodwill Discount, bringing the total investment in this transformation to a clean $35,000.00. [cite_start]The keys will be handed over, the last 5% paid, and the quotation will finally cease to be a document and become, quite simply, a home.
Chapter III: The Art of the Wood
As the wet works settle, the Carpentry phase begins—the most intricate and expensive chapter of this story, totaling over $13,000. In the foyer, storage rises to meet the needs of daily life. In the kitchen, bottom and top-hung cabinets are fabricated with "internal wood embossed polykem finish," marrying durability with the tactile warmth of timber.
The Master Room becomes a sanctuary. A feature bedside table, a dresser with a clear mirror backing, and expansive wardrobes are erected to hold the owners' most personal artifacts. Even the Master Bath is elevated with a mirror-finish casement cabinet, illuminated by the soft glow of a hidden LED light strip.
